Planet Zoo

Planet Zoo is a management sim built by the same developers as Planet Coaster. It's a spiritual successor to Zoo Tycoon, as players construct and manage a functioning zoo and animal ecosystem.
Using real-world animals and knowledge, players must build appropriate enclosures and maintain animal happiness, and manage staff and facilities. Successful zoos balance their budget while entertaining and educating patrons. Animal breeding programs allow zoos to also participate in animal conservation.
The base game features over a thousand building pieces, and over 75 animal species, with dozens more added via paid expansion packs.
A console edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S was released in March 2024.

Planet Coaster autosaves, and players can save the game at any time.

As in Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo's difficulty largely stems from the different game modes. The story-based career mode eases players into the game's management systems, while the Sandbox mode is worry-free without any money requirements. Challenge and Franchise mode are for seasoned players who understand the game's underlying systems, and the building blocks for creating a working zoo that can grow over time.

Planet Zoo features an online Franchise mode, where players an purchase and trade animals between other online players, and complete special online challenges with the rest of the Planet Zoo community.
