At Gamescom 2024, indie studio Racoon Logic announced Revenge of the Savage Planet. The sequel to humorous sci-fi shooter-adventure Journey to the Savage Planet will launch early(ish) 2025 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a return to the space-faring universe of corporate satire. This time, your exploration and scouting efforts have left you laid off and stranded on an alien planet. You’ll need to do what you do best: explore new lands, collect upgrades, and craft gear to create a lasting home in Nu Florida.

In fact, Revenge features not one but four (at least!) planets to explore, catalog, and collect creatures from.

The sequel makes a dramatic change from first-person to third-person, which should make platforming and exploration a bit easier. And the trailer showcases some cool new traversal abilities, including a nifty space slide thingy.

Oh, and the sequel adds splitscreen couch co-op — nice!

“We’re beyond excited to welcome budding explorers back to the Savage Planet universe,” said Alex Hutchinson, Creative Director, Racoon Logic. “A lot has happened since we launched the original title – both in-game and life, with the whole studio being shuttered during a global pandemic. On the back of this, Raccoon Logic was born, and with it Revenge of the Savage Planet, which may or may not incorporate an element of the journey we all went through. We can’t wait to show everyone the world we’ve created next year.”

Revenge of the Savage Planet is rated T for Teen.
