Epic Games has introduced a new mode for Fortnite Battle Royale. Fortnite Reload is a 40-player competitive squads mode where teammates can respawn — as long as at least one member of the team can stay alive.

In Fortnite Reload, when a player is eliminated, a 30-second timer begins. Surviving teammates can still opt to revive them immediately, but if they can’t, the timer begins. The timer is reduced when team mates eliminate opponents.

As the match progresses, the timer will get longer, capping out at 40-seconds later in the match.

Near the end of the match, reboots will stop altogether. It’s do or die time!

The new map is similar to the original Fortnite Battle Royale map, before years and years of updates, changes, and additions. The map features familiar locations such as Tilted Towers in the middle, and all locations are immediately visible upon loading in. The smaller map is also completely devoid of vehicles.

It’ll be full of classic loot, however, such as the tactical shotgun, infantry rifle, rocket launcher, and grappler.

By playing Fortnite Reload, players can complete 20,000XP worth of quests, earning the Digital Dogfight Contrail, Pool Cubes Wrap, and NaNa Bath Back Bling.

If you manage to win a match, you’ll earn the Rezzbrella Glider.

Fortnite Reload can be played in Zero Build, or regular Battle Royale.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox and iOS and Android mobile devices. It’s rated T for Teen.
