Delightfully named German indie studio Serious Bros announced their sci-fi city builder Imagine Earth will release on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation on May 9. Imagine Earth is currently available on PC (Steam), and Xbox.

In the future, Earth is in ruins (shocker!), and humanity must search the stars for a new home. Players are in charge of colonization, defense, resource exploitation, and management.

Gameplay focuses on exploration and economy over war and conquest. Players must balance growth with preservation, as climate disaster can lead to pollution, rising sea levels, radiation, and a bevy of natural disasters.

Not to mention the occasional hostile alien pirates!

In other words, try not to ruin these new planets, too, okay?

Imagine Earth features a multi-mission campaign mode, a competition mode with five AI factions, and a freeform mode with procedurally generated planets.

Imagine Earth will be featured in Steam’s upcoming Earth Appreciation Festival, which runs from April 22 to April 29. During the festival, Imagine Earth will be on sale for 30% off. During Earth Day (April 22), Serious Bros will donate all proceeds to reforestation. The studio is dedicated to raising and donating money for charities and organizations dedicated to fighting the climate crisis.

Imagine Earth is out now on PC and Xbox, and launching May 9 on Switch and PlayStation. It’s rated E for Everyone.
