The latest Indie World Showcase presented by Nintendo showcased several new and upcoming indie games coming to the Switch throughout 2024. And half of them feature either cats, ninja turtles, or robots!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate

Even the ninja turtles aren’t immune from the lure of a roguelike outing. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is a top-down, roguelike adventure as the foursome hope through portals to save the kidnapped Master Splinter. Each turtle has different traits and specialities, and gain more powers and abilities as they travel deeper through the worlds. Supports four player online drop-in co-op.

Release: July 2024 (timed console exclusive)

Little Kitty, Big City

Double Dagger Studio crafted an adorable trailer to show off their urban adventure starring a feisty feline. The gameplay (and art style) looks similar to Untitled Goose Game, as your curious cat explores the city, getting into shenanigans and playfully annoying patrons while finding their way home. Also, you can dress the cat with over 40 different hats.

Steamworld Heist 2

Another entry in the charming Steamworld series is a direct sequel to Steamworld Heist, the 2D XCOM-like tactical strategy game with colorful art and ricocheting bullets. This time the space-faring Steambot crew are completely terrestrial, featuring an explorable world map and real-time naval combat in between tactical missions.

Europa

Europa is a 3D, Zelda-like action-adventure set on the titular moon of Jupiter after it’s been terraformed into a wondrous fantasy land. Europa stars Zee, a human-looking android searching for answers of a lost civilization. Zee is equipped with a helpful jetpack to swiftly jet around the beautiful landscapes and solve puzzles among the ruins.

Yars Rising

Yars Rising is a side-scrolling action game based on an Atari classic, Yars’ Revenge. Hacker Emi must infiltrate a megacorporation by running, jumping, sneaking, and hacking via retro minigames directly inspired by Yars’ Revenge.

Antonblast

If ever a game gave me late 90s sidescroller vibes, it’s Antonblast. This fast-paced, over-the-top action-platformer features destructive environments and wanton mayhem. Dynamite Anton (or Annie) smash through levels with their bludgeoning weapons to retrieve their stolen spirits from the devil himself.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Published by Annapurna Interactive and developed by the team behind Sayonara Wild Hearts,, Lorelai and the Laser Eyes is a third-person adventure puzzle game set in a mysterious European hotel. It features over 100 puzzles, and a moody black and white art style.

Refind Self: The Personality Test Game

Refind Self is a decision-making adventure game where you play as an android on a journey of self-discovery. By exploring memories, interacting with characters, and making choices, you’ll end up with a unique personality type. There are 23 different personality types to discover, and players can share their results online.

Stitch

Embroidery puzzle game may be a first, but Stitch looks incredibly charming. Players create embroidery patterns by solving puzzles. Puzzles range from small one-offs to large and complex designs. Daily and weekly puzzles will be inspired by real-world events and trivia.
