Nintendo has released Princess Peach: Showtime! on Nintendo Switch in physical and digital formats ($59.99). It’s the first game to feature Princess Peach from the Mario series as the main character in a game in nearly two decades (Nintendo DS’ Super Princess Peach in 2006).

Showtime is a single player action game that stars the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom as she attends the Sparkle Theater. The theater has been taken over by an evil sorceress, trapping Peach and other visitors inside.

With the help of Stella, the theater’s guardian, Peach must save the theatre by entering different worlds of each play. Stella unlocks the power of transformation, letting Peach take on different personas and outfits related to each play, such as Ninja Peach, Cowgirl Peach, and Detective Peach. Each transformation has its own special abilities to help Peach save each play.

To celebrate the launch, My Nintendo members can redeem Peach-tastic awards with their Platinum Points. Digital awards include printable movie posters inspired by the plays, Princess Peach stationary set, Showtime! Switch icons, and new wallpaper featuring Peach and all her transformations.

A free demo is available on the Nintendo eShop, which includes two plays and two of Peach’s transformations.

Princess Peach: Showtime! is rated E10+ with fantasy violence.
