Core to the series are the Pawns, customizable NPCs who accompany the Arisen on their adventures, and play an important part in the game’s story. Pawns are as a customizable as the Arisen themselves, down to their vocation, voice, and personality type.

The Arisen will select various vocations that grant their abilities, including warrior, sorcerer, and the newly announced Trickster., which uses illusions and manipulation in battle.
