XSEED Games have released Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S ($49.99).

A Wonderful Life is a remake of the classic 2004 farming sim on GameCube (and later on PS2). Back then, the series was called Harvest Moon in North America, as was the prototypical farming and life sim games, inspiring modern classics such as Stardew Valley.

While the original game featured a male-only protagonist (with a “girl version” releasing a year later), the remake allows you to choose a male, female, or non-binary protagonist, and opens up all NPC romance options regardless of gender choice.

In addition to updated visuals and character designs, the remake adds new events, new crops, and new recipes.

“It has been an honor to work on this reimagining of such a beloved classic like Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life,” said Rika Hoshina, director. “Everyone on the development team has poured their hearts into recapturing the magic that charmed so many of us when the original game released. We hope that Story of Seasons fans around the world, old and new, enjoy their time in Forgotten Valley, where everyone is welcome.”

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is available now. A Premium edition ($59.99) includes a cloth poster, and a goat pocket plushie.

It’s rated E for Everyone.
