Capcom has released the fifth major title update for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The free content update adds new monsters, new Special Investigations, and raises the level cap for Anomaly Investigations.

The two new monsters, both Elder Dragons, are Amatsu (last seen in Monster Hunter Generations) and a Risen variant of Shagaru Magala. Risen variants were introduced in the second title update, and feature beefier endurance and nastier attacks.

Amatsu will be available to hunt beginning at Master Rank 10, while you’ll need to reach MR180 to hunt Risen Shagaru Magala. Both include unique sets of armor.

After reaching the newly raised level 300 in Anomaly Investigations, new Special Investigations will unlock. These monsters features new abilities and powerups for even deadlier challenges. Afflicted materials from Risen hunts can be used to craft additional skill customization using the new Qurious Melding feature in the Melding Pot.

The update video also teases that June’s free title update will see the release of the final additional monster for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Naturally, they didn’t even hint at what it might be.

More Event Quests are also rolling out. The update video teased some of the rewards, including Lagombi Ears, Bloodmalice armor, and, uh, Buff Body Armor?

Monster Hunter Rise is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Sunbreak expansion is releasing for PlayStation and Xbox on April 28. It’s rated T for Teen.
