Sega has revealed the release date for upcoming open world Sonic adventure. Sonic Frontiers will release on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on November 8 ($59.99).

The new story trailer teases the threat Sonic will have to deal with — and it’s not Dr. Robotnik! Some kind of weird digital young girl, with an army of robots, including some gigantic ones. They threaten the world of Starfall Islands that Sonic has become trapped in.

Thankfully the world is full of ramps, boosts, platforms, and glowing rings — everything a blue hedgehog needs.

Sonic Frontiers is a fully 3D open world adventure, featuring side quests, puzzles, and lots and lots of fast-paced platforming. To battle the robotic threat, Sonic uses a new battle system with dodges, combos, and counters, and a skill tree full of upgrades.

Pre-orders are now available. Pre-orders receive an Adventurer’s Treasure Box, which includes Blue Seeds of Defense, Red Seeds of Power, and several Skill Points.

The Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99) also bestows an Explorer’s Treasure Box, featuring Amy’s Memory Tokens, Portal Gear, Chaos Emerald Vault Keys, a digital art book, and a 25-track soundtrack.

Sonic Frontiers is rated E10+ for Fantasy Violence.
