X.D Entertainment has announced that Android mobile users can now pre-register for Torchlight: Infinite.

Infinite is a spin-off action-RPG designed for mobile devices, as well as PC. Each hero can be customized with over 50 talents and over 200 skills. Not to mention all those sweet random loot drops.

Torchlight: Infinite will support cross play multiplayer, in-game trading, and post-launch content releases and seasonal events. All of which should be familiar to the free-to-play multiplayer crowd.

As an ARPG series, Torchlight was inspired by, and competed with big brother Diablo throughout the last decade. The first two games were very well received. The recently released third game was met with poor reviews, however, as designers tried to convert their MMO-style adventure into a more traditional action-RPG in the 11th hour.

Ironically, Torchlight is still chasing Diablo. Diablo Immortal released earlier this year as a free-to-play mobile spin-off. But fans have balked at the numerous microtransactions. Given the subtle and not-so subtle marketing jabs by the official Torchlight Infinite account, the designers are hoping to capitalize on the Immortal resentment and offer an alternative ARPG mobile experience.

Torchlight: Infinite is set to launch on PC, and iOS and Android mobile devices soon. More information on the PC version will be coming later this month.
