Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is releasing on June 24 on Switch, but you can get started right now with the free demo, available now on the Nintendo eShop.

The demo covers the first three chapters. It includes two-player local co-op support, and any progress made will carry over should you purchase the full game when it releases.

In Three Hopes you play a new mercenary named Shez in the fantasy world of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Like previous Fire Emblem protagonists, Shez can be created to be male or female. Join forces with the leaders and heroes of that RPG series, including Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude as they battle against the Ashen Demon. Just like in Three Houses, you’ll need to ally with one of the three leaders and their factions to forge a path into three different stories and endings.

Whereas Fire Emblem is a tactical, turn-based RPG, Fire Emblem Warriors is a spin-off series. The Warriors series are action games that pit lone fighters against hundreds of enemies in over-the-top battles.

The first melding of the Warriors series with Fire Emblem was 2017’s Fire Emblem Warriors. Players with save data from Fire Emblem Warriors or Fire Emblem: Three Houses can receive digital goodies in Three Hopes.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes will release on June 24 on Switch. It’s rated T for Teen.
