Rogue-lite sequel Rogue Legacy 2 has left Early Access and launched as version 1.0 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S ($24.99). It’s currently on sale with a 20% launch discount, for $19.99.

The sequel brings new weapons, abilities, classes, and biomes to the beloved rogue-lite, metroidvania side-scroller. Rogue Legacy 2 features 15 unique classes, heirlooms that permanently unlock new areas in future runs, improved traits with more risk and reward, and unique relics that change how each run is played.

The biggest addition is a new art style, bringing 3D characters into 2D, hand drawn backgrounds.

For newer players, or those of us needing a bit of help, the sequel also adds improved accessibility with the new House Rules. Now you can tweak damage, health, or even give yourself flight to get past a tricky section.

“Rogue Legacy 2 is more than just a sequel to our studio, it’s the culmination of all that we’ve learned over the last nine years since the release of the original,” states an official statement by Cellar Door Games. “We’ve put everything we have into it, and knowing that fans both new and old alike will be experiencing it for the first time is incredibly humbling. We hope it brings the same sense of joy and discovery the original gave so many years ago.”

Rogue Legacy 2 is available on Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
