More and more modern JRPGs, once synonymous with consoles, are releasing on PC through Steam, though it usually takes several months to a year. Square Enix announced that Bravely Default 2 is releasing on Steam on September 2. It’s currently 10% off through September 13.

Bravely Default 2 is a classic, retro-inspired RPG starring four Heroes of Light who journey across a fantasy world collecting crystals and doing hero things for over 50 hours. The original story features full voice acting and music by Revo, who returns from the first game.

Throughout the story you’ll defeat story-based bosses and unlock new classes. Each class has its own progression of skills and equipment support, and each hero can equip up to two classes, creating a lot of interesting combinations and synergies.

The combat system uses the Brave and Default systems to encourage building up your strength and action points (by choosing Default, aka defend), and then unleashing a big turn by using Brave. The RPG is full of fun systems, even if the actual story and world are a bit forgettable (read our review).

The Steam version features support for different resolutions as well as controllers. Bravely Default 2 is also available on Nintendo Switch. It’s rated T for Teen.
