Game names can get pretty weird and cumbersome, just ask the Kingdom Hearts series, which sports memorable titles like 358/2 Days and 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Square Enix are outdoing themselves with the official title of the updated version of NieR Replicant: NieR Replicant Ver. 1.22474487139…, which manages to include a long string of numbers and an ellipses. Bravo.

The remaster is launching on April 23 for PC (Steam), PlayStation, and Xbox. Watch the new cinematic intro above, which features new voiceover, music, and graphics.

NieR Replicant is an enhanced edition of the original 2010 action-RPG, which released in the US as simply NieR. An unnamed protagonist searches a post-apocalyptic world for a cure to his sister’s deadly disease.

The new version is developed in collaboration with ToyLogic, and key designers from the much more popular sequel, NieR: Automata (PlatinumGames), including the director, composer, and producer. Square Enix recently announced that NieR: Automata has sold over 5.5 million copies.

NieR Replicant Ver. 1.22474487139… is out April 23 for PC (Steam), PlayStation, and Xbox. In addition to a standard version, a White Snow Edition ($159.99) is also available on the Square Enix store that includes a steelbook case, 2-disc soundtrack, set of pins, and 7-booklet script set.

It’s rated M for Mature for Blood, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence.
