Merge Games and French developer Dark Screen Games have announced a release date for Bounty Battle. The unique mash-up of indie game characters will launch September 10 on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One, for $24.99.

Bounty Battle is a 2D multiplayer arena brawler, similar to Super Smash Bros. Instead of Nintendo characters, however, it utilizes an impressive roster of indie game stars.

Bounty Battle features 30 fighters from over 20 indie games, including Dead Cells, Darkest Dungeon, Nuclear Throne, Owlboy, SteamWorld Dig, Flinthook, and Guacamelee.

You can check out the full roster here. I follow the indie scene fairly closely, but some of these I’ve never heard of! Each fighter includes a minion companion and their own unique abilities and playstyle.

Game modes include tournament, versus, challenge, and a training room. The game will launch with 16 different arenas, with many based on the worlds of the fighters.

Bounty Battle is coming September 10. You can pre-order now for a 20% discount on consoles, or 15% discount on Steam. A special physical Signature Edition will be available exclusively from Signature Edition Games, for Switch and PlayStation 4. The Signature Edition includes a large collector’s box, character guide booklet, and four character enamel pins.
