In a previous announcement, we learned that Hawkeye would be the first post-launch DLC hero to join the roster of Marvel’s Avengers. With today’s War Table stream we learned an exciting twist – we’re getting two Hawkeyes: Kate Bishop, and Clint Barton.

Clint Barton is the original Hawkeye, and the one most fans are familiar of from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kate Bishop is the teenage sharpshooter and Olympic-level gymnast who takes on the name Hawkeye when Barton disappears, and later becomes his on again/off again sidekick. Humorously, both still retain the name Hawkeye in the comics, and maintain a friendly relationship and rivalry.

Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye will join the roster in late October. Her story arc, “Taking Aim,” takes place directly after the Reassemble campaign in the main campaign, and features a new villain.

Then in November, Clint Barton’s Hawkeye will be added to finish the story arc, and lay the groundwork for future content.

Apparently the War Table stream was meant to reveal Black Panther, but due to the recent passing of actor Chadwick Boseman, Square Enix altered the stream (and DLC schedule) to showcase Kate Bishop instead.

Both post-launch heroes will be completely free. Marvel’s Avengers will release September 4 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. PS4 and Xbox One versions will provide free upgrades to their next-gen counterparts if you purchase the new consoles. Marvel’s Avengers is rated T for Teen.
