The upcoming RPG remake Trials of Mana features six playable characters. Players will need to choose their main hero, and two companions, right from the beginning. To help with this decision, Square Enix has crafted a personality quiz (not unlike Pokémon Mystery Dungeon) to help pick your starting character.
The 15-question quiz imposes a strict 10-second time limit for each question to gauge your immediate answers. I got Duran, the wild-haired, proud soldier from Valsena. If you log in with your Square Enix account and complete the quiz, you’ll receive your character’s matching avatar portrait.
Square Enix also released a new trailer, The Sacred Sword Trailer (above) along with a free demo on PlayStation 4, Steam, and Switch. The demo lets players choose between all six heroes and play through their starting adventures. Any progress made in the demo will carry over should you choose to purchase the game on the same platform.
Trials of Mana is an enhanced remake of the original 1995 JRPG known as Seiken Densestu 3. The original threequel only recently released to western audiences last year as part of the Collection of Mana bundle.
Trials of Mana will release on April 24 on PlayStation 4, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. It’s rated T for Teen for Fantasy Violence and Suggestive Themes.
