Remedy Entertainment (Alan Wake) and 505 Games announced the release date for The Foundation, the first DLC expansion for last year’s breakout action game, Control. The Foundation will launch on PC (Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 4 on March 26.

Xbox One users will have to wait significantly longer, however, as The Foundation won’t be available until June 25 on Xbox.

The Foundation expansion will delve into the Oldest House’s history. Jesse is alerted by the Board that a situation has arisen in the Foundation, the bedrock of the Oldest House. A mysterious structure called the Monolith has been damaged, resulting in the Astral Plane leaking into the Foundation. If Jesse does not find a way to stop it, the entire Oldest House, along with the Bureau, will be consumed by this invading dimension.

The Foundation is the first of two planned DLC expansion packs. It can be purchased separately, or included by purchasing the season pass (or Digital Deluxe edition). March 26 will also include the release of a free update to all Control players, including a new Shield Rush upgrade and the ability to reassign Ability Points.

Control released last year as a narrative-drive action game starring agent Jesse Faden. Faden must unravel the supernatural surroundings of the Bureau as she gains unique powers and becomes the new Director. Control is rated M for Mature.
