Publisher 505 Games and developer Remedy Entertainment (Quantum Break) have released third-person action game Control on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Control stars Jess Faden, Director of a secretive agency who must defend against a new otherworldly threat. The gameplay combines third-person shooting with supernatural abilities, such as telekinesis. Control is one of the first games on PC to support multiple ray-tracing effects, creating more advanced lighting and shading techniques.

“Control is our most ambitious game as a studio yet,” said Mikael Kasurinen, game director, Remedy Entertainment. “We said early on this would redefine what a Remedy game is; giving our fans a more player-driven experience than we’ve ever created before, while still retaining the compelling worlds we’re known for. Everyone at Remedy is proud of what we’re delivering to players today and we look forward to continuing to expand on what we’ve built after launch as well.”

To celebrate the launch, 505 games is hosting a launch day stream from 8 am to 4 am Pacific, encouraging viewers to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Guests include Control lead voice actress Courtney Hope, former IGN editor and YouTube personality Alanah Pearce, and Remedy’s Creative Director Sam Lake.

Control is rated M for Mature.
