Studio Wildcard’s latest update to ARK: Survival Evolved adds lots of improvements when it comes to designing the buildings of your dreams. ARK: Homestead is a free update that improves existing structures, as well as adds new building pieces with more placement options, and a streamlined Kibble system for dino taming. Homestead is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

ARK: Homestead is based on a player created Sponsored mod called Structures Plus, developed by Orionsun. After a public beta, the mod has now been given an official release (the trailer above showcases structures built via the beta).

The update revamps and expands ARK’s building system to include triangular floors, half walls, and angle pieces. New snap points allow for stairs and ramps. Existing buildings were given these new snap points without changing their structure.

In addition, the Homestead update includes an update to the Kibble system. Kibbles are a special type of food that survivors can feed to creatures during taming with adults and babies. Now instead of dozens of kibbles that all require a specific egg, each creature now falls into one of six categories: Basic, Simple, Regular, Superior, Exceptional, and Extraordinary.

ARK: Survival Evolved is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices. It’s rated T for Teen.
