It shouldn’t be a surprise that Star Wars Battlefront II will feature a cross-promotional event with the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story film. Starting May 16 Han Solo will temporarily wrest the spotlight in the Solo Season event, which will arrive showcase everyone’s favorite space scoundrel in both the original trilogy and the upcoming Summer film.

The Solo Season event will first showcase Han Solo’s action and story in the original trilogy, including a new map based on Jabba’s Palace from Return of the Jedi.

  • Jabba’s Palace – Han Solo spent all of his time in the Palace encased in carbonite, but you’ll be able to blast your way through the alien gangster’s lair in Blast, Showdown, and Heroes vs. Villains modes in this new map.
  • New 2v2 Hero Showdown Mode – This new round-based elimination mode will pit two iconic heroes vs two villains, such as Han and Chewy vs bounty hunters Bobba Fett and Bossk. Every round a new duo must be selected.
  • New Appearances – Two new Appearances will be available for purchase, one for Lando and one for Leia. Both inspired from their looks in the Jabba Palace rescue scene in Return of the Jedi.
  • Starfighter Custom Arcade – This custom arcade mode was heavily requested by fans as a way to practice piloting skills across all eras and spaceships.

The Solo event will continue in June with another influx of content that will tie-in to the new film. Solo: A Star Wars Story opens May 25 and features a young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) when he first meets Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).

Star Wars Battlefront II is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s rated T for Teen.
