Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun quietly released at the end of 2016 on PC. It was a fantastic tactical stealth adventure set in within the rich Japanese time period of ninjas and samurai.

Later this summer console players will be able to experience the world of Shadow Tactics. It’s scheduled to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 1. The console version will be published by Kalypso Media, in partnership with Daedalic Entertainment and developer Mimimi Productions.

“Porting Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun to consoles was a big challenge,” said Frieder Mielke, Technical Director at Mimimi Productions. “We wanted to make sure that console players would be able to enjoy the exact same experience as on PC, and I believe we’ve achieved that. But no one can be a better judge of that than the players, and that’s why we also decided to release a demo version for both platforms, so that every console player can try the game for free and decide for themselves.”

Shadow Tactics will be available digitally from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Games Store, as well as physical boxed versions. The demo will launch on the same day as the console version and will feature the entire first mission and a preview of the second.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun features over 25 hours of tactical stealth gameplay spread over 13 increasingly challenging missions. In our review we called it “one of the most compelling and memorable tactical games you’ll ever play.”

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun will be available August 1 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
