Cooperative Action-RPG Dragon Quest Heroes II is now available on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4. It’s a direct sequel to 2015’s Dragon Quest Heroes, developed by Koei Tecmo. Watch the new launch trailer above.

The sequel brings back the same fast-paced action combat and colorful Dragon Quest world, with the new addition of multiplayer.

After a thousand years of peace, the Seven Realms suddenly collapse into conflict as if guided by a mysterious and malicious force. Now, players must lead a band of powerful heroes in a quest to defeat evil and save the war-torn world.

Dragon Quest Heroes II provides 15 playable hero classes in Story Mode, some returning and some new. Many heroes are pulled from classic Dragon Quest RPGs. The characters and artwork have been designed by famed anime artist and Dragon Quest veteran Akira Toriyama.

Eight additional characters will be available in multiplayer mode. Up to four players can form a party online in Dimensional Dungeons and more story-driven battles called War Zones.

A new Monster Medal system lets heroes summon monsters into battle as well as transform into classic Dragon Quest monsters.

A Day One Explorer’s Edition is available for the PS4 version, It includes 15 bonus items inspired from Dragon Quest monsters. A free demo of Dragon Quest Heroes II is also available to download from the PlayStation Store.

Dragon Quest Heroes II has been rated T for Teen for Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, and Mild Suggestive Themes. It’s available now for PC and PS4.
