Agents of Mayhem was first revealed during last year’s E3. Since then news has been quiet regarding the next game by Volition, the developers behind the beloved and wacky Saints Row series. Today Volition and publisher Deep Silver have announced a release date: August 15 for North America and August 18 for Europe. It’s coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

We’re also treated to a new trailer full of explosions, colorful characters, and 80s theme songs, in case you needed a firmer grasp on the tone.

Agents of Mayhem is a single player, open world action game that looks like an even crazier version of Saints Row – and Saints Row 4 let you become a literal superhero. Twelve unique agents will be available to build your squad of three, and you can jump between them during missions. Each agent has their own distinct personality, weapons, and skills. Agents include TV action star Hollywood, sky pirate thief Fortune, energy bow-wielding Rama, and crazy football hooligan Red Card.

The story features the corporate-sponsored squad Agents of Mayhem, who are a response to a new supervillain organization called LEGION. The Agents of Mayhem are lead by Persephone Brimstone, an ex-LEGION lieutenant. You and your squad fight to take back the world after a devastating attack from LEGION.

The Day One Edition includes the Legal Action Pending DLC. It includes six unique outfits for some agents that are suspiciously close to superheros, such as Iron Man.

I adored Saints Row 3 and 4, and Agents of Mayhem looks to continue with a similarly goofy and fun tone and style.

Agents of Mayhem arrives August 15 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
