The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, an upcoming RPG for mobile devices, is bringing a tabletop game to the electronic stage. The game is based on the Fighting Fantasy series of single-player roleplay gamebooks by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone. First created in 1982, the Fighting Fantasy books feature the reader as the adventurer as they set out on a Choose Your Own Adventure style journey with the added inclusion of dice rolls. The series has been adapted to a video game format before, but this time developers Tin Man Games promise the most ambitious version to date.

The Warlock of Firetop Mountain will feature a fully fleshed storyline that changes based on player choice. Players will be able to choose from four different heroes, each with their own backstories and motivations. Combat is turn-based, and the book’s original artist, Russ Nicholson, is on board to render the action in all its 3D glory. Players should also note that the game will include optional in-app purchases for additional characters, skills, and quests.

The game will be available for download on February 22. Both iPhone and iPad users will be able to find The Warlock of Firetop Mountain on the App Store for $4.99.
