Here’s some news on the HoloGrid: Monster Battle game. It seems that Michael Levine, CEO of HappyGiant, is meeting this week with Microsoft about the new HoloLens version of the game.

There’s nothing too unusual about collectible card games. They’re everywhere. But HoloGrid: Monster Battle is special because it looks like the holographic game in Star Wars (“Let the Wookie win”). The monsters were designed by the legendary Phil Tippett.

The game is already available for Android or Apple devices. You buy the card game, and then you download the free app. You play the game using your cards on an alternate-reality game board created by your  app.

Designed by Tippett Studio and HappyGiant, the game features cross-platform play between iOS and Android mobile devices.  The card game costs $35.
