A couple of tweets from the official Pokémon GO account have announced some changes to the frequency in which you’ll be stumbling into the very common pokémon. That should make the game possibly more interesting to lapsed players, including myself.
Professor Willow has discovered that you may encounter other Pokémon where Pidgey, Rattata, and Zubat were previously more commonly found.

The tweets say that Pidgey, Rattata and Zubat are the pokémon that will be most effective. No complaining here. I was so sick of those Zubats.
Another tweet gave some info on eggs and their contents.
Professor Willow has discovered that Pidgey & Rattata no longer hatch from Eggs. He also found that Eevee now hatches from 5 km Eggs only.

Apparently the changes have already begun rolling out. With these changes and new daily updates, I’m leaning toward to firing the game up again. My daughter has been asking for it anyway.
