Warner Bros. announced today that Batman – The Telltale series will see a digital release of its first episode in August with a physical release following in September. The game, like many other Telltale games, is scheduled to have five episodes in total.

In case you didn’t know, Telltale Games has established itself as the go-to developer for choice-driven episodic games. Some of their previous projects include The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones. The Wolf Among Us was also published by Warner Bros. and they had great things to say about Telltale in an official announcement.

“Telltale has a stellar reputation for delivering quality content based on world-renowned properties and these games make a great addition to our line-up,” said Kevin Kebodeaux, Senior Vice President, Sales, Americas, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.  “We previously worked with Telltale on The Wolf Among Us and now on the recently announced Batman – The Telltale Series, so we are very pleased to expand our partnership with worldwide retail distribution for its upcoming titles.”

The first screenshots and details on the cast were released earlier this year, just before E3. The art style is aimed at providing a comic book look and feel. The digital version will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, and mobile in August. The specific date is yet to be revealed. The retail version will be available on September 16.
