The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is a trade-only event for the game industry. That officially means you have to work in the industry in some form in order to get into the show. Unofficially, people have found their way into the show even if they don’t work in the industry. But now that finagling may not be necessary because E3 is holding an event that will be open to the general public. It’s called E3 Live and will happen at the same time as the industry-only show.

According to the website for the event, participants will get to:

  • “Test drive select gadgets game and gear
  • Enjoy live music, dance competitions and demos
  • Meet industry personalities, light up your social feed with one-of-a-kind photo-ops, see VR demos, and more
  • Purchase games, exclusive gear, and collectibles”

E3 Live will take place at L.A. Live, which is a collection of shops and event spaces right next to the convention center. Best of all, this event is completely free. But you do need to have a ticket. Some of the times are already sold out, so move quickly.
