EA has announced the latest game its long-running Battlefield franchise will be called Battlefield 1. The new game is different from the previous games in that it will take place in the World War I time period and will feature a vast selection of weaponry and locations.

“The game will deliver a fresh experience full of what makes Battlefield great, with a multiplayer sandbox, immersion, epic scale, authenticity, team play and an ever-changing world full of unexpected Battlefield moments,” said Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer, DICE in an official release. “We’re inviting players on an epic journey across a war-torn world, taking them to the Great War and providing something both varied and unique in Battlefield 1.”

Battlefield 1 will feature 64-player online multiplayer games, and will also feature a campaign mode that will take players through different locations, using different weapons.

Battlefield 1 will be released on October 21 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. However, EA Access subscribers will get a first look at the game before its release. Those interested can also sign up for the public beta.
