Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, the sequel to one of our favorite family-friendly games of 2014, has a release date! The game will come out on February 23, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. We also got a new trailer today that highlights some of the bonus content that you get if you decide to preorder.

The Z7 mech, inspired by the Mass Effect game series, combines the cartoonish styles of Plants vs. Zombies with the more serious style of the Mass Effect games. It comes complete with a B.P.P rifle and a Zomni-tool (a riff on “omni-tool”). Both Plants vs. Zombies and Mass Effect are published by EA, which is what makes this crossover (called “Grass Effect”) possible. Players who preorder PvZ: Garden Warfare 2 will also receive 14 custom emojis.

Our own Nicole Tanner got the chance to look at PvZ: Garden Warfare at PAX Prime and really liked it. Check out her first impression right here, or read one mom’s hilarious account of playing the first Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare with her kids.

PvZ: Garden Warfare 2 doesn’t have an ESRB rating yet, but the first Garden Warfare was rated E10+ for Animated Blood, Crude Humor, and Fantasy Violence.
