The North American League of Legends Championship Series is coming to Madison Square Garden this summer.

That’s pretty exciting news for the gaming world. Madison Square Garden is a fairly prestigious location. The European Championships’ location was also announced. It’s Hovet Arena in Stockholm. The eSports events will include several opportunities for fun and competition, including cosplay and League-related attractions.

League of Legends is a massively multiplayer online battle arena game. Players team up and take control of mythical champions. League of Legends players were recently granted the same immigration visa status as traditional athletes. The P-1 visa gives athletes license to compete in the United States for up to five years.

Competitive gaming is now a huge industry. Some prize pools for eSports tournaments now exceed $10 million.

The The League of Legends Championship finals will take place August 22 and 23 this year. Ticket info isn’t available yet, but should be later this month.
