The Pokémon Company is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a new yearlong campaign, “What’s Your Favorite?” No, it’s not a game show, it’s a photo-sharing event in mobile game, Pokémon GO.

The campaign kicked off with a celebrity-studded commercial during Super Bowl LX, which featured Lady Gaga, Tevor Noah, Jisoo, Lamine Yamal, and more.

Lady Gaga singing as Jigglypuff is fantastic, no notes.

Fans can join the event by using the new camera feature in free-to-play mobile game, Pokémon GO. In the game, tap the new “Whats Your Favorite?” tab, and select a Pokémon to generate them for an AR picture. Apparently, you don’t event need a Pokémon GO account to participate. Pokémon GO is also celebrating a milestone this year, turning 10 years old — wow!

“The ‘What’s Your Favorite?’ campaign embodies Pokémon’s overarching mission of bringing people together through a shared love of Pokémon,” said Kenji Okubo, president,The Pokémon Company International. “Since the franchise debuted 30 years ago, Trainers have often asked each other, ‘What’s Your Favorite?’ — it’s a question that sparks passionate discussion and reminds fans that no matter who they are, there is a Pokémon for them. As we gear up for a year packed full of fan-focused celebrations, we thank Trainers around the world for being part of our diverse, global and multigenerational community, and we can’t wait to surprise and delight them with more offerings and experiences in the coming months.”

Although the series celebrates its 30th anniversary, the original Pokémon video games didn’t arrive in North America (and elsewhere outside Japan) until 1998. Pokémon Red and Blue were remade in 2004 as FireRed and LeafGreen, and again in 2018 with Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee.
