Capcom has finally revealed the date of the open beta test for highly anticipated action game Monster Hunter Wilds, alongside a new trailer. The open beta test will run October 31 – November 3, on Steam PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Ugh, really, starting on Halloween? Sorry kids, I got monsters to hunt!

The beta starts at 8 pm Pacific/11pm Eastern.

PlayStation Plus subscribers get a nice bonus: a head start to the open beta that begins October 28.

The Open Beta Test will feature three components: the character creator, a Story Trial, and a free-roaming Doshaguma Hunt.

The Character Creator includes the complete tool from the full game, and any created characters will save and transfer to the full release.

The Story Trial includes the opening cinematic of the game, and the starter tutorials alongside a Chatacabra hunt. The free-roam adventure lets players explore the Windward Plains hunting the Alpha Doshaguma. Both hunts can be played solo or with up to four players.

The new trailer showcases a new region, the Oilwell Basin, and the Rompopolo monster. Rompopolo is at home in the bubbling oilfield, spewing toxic gas and causing explosions.

Monster Hunter Wilds is launching on February 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with Standard ($69.99), Deluxe ($89.99), and Premium Deluxe Editions ($109.99).

The Deluxe Edition includes cosmetic DLC packs. The Premium Deluxe Edition also includes post-launch DLC, releasing later in 2025.

Monster Hunter Wilds is rated T for Teen.
