Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is out now on PC (Steam, Windows), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox ($39.99). The spinoff series of the Phoenix Wright games includes remastered versions of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, and its sequel, Prosecutor’s Gambit.
Fun fact: Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor’s Gambit has never before released outside of Japan.
In Ace Attorney Investigations, players take on the role of series prosecutor Miles Edgeworth. The games introduce point-and-click adventure gameplay as Miles hunts for clues and talks to witnesses around various crime scenes. By gathering proper evidence and analyzing the history, Miles can successfully complete each episode and bring the perpetrators to justice.
But if you’d rather sit back and enjoy the story instead of hunting for clues, the remasters introduce an optional Story Mode. Story Mode automatically solves puzzles and mysteries.
The remasters allow players to swap between the original pixel art, and the new modernized HD style by original character designer Tatsuro Iwamoto. They also include an expansive gallery of illustrations, animations, and sketches, as well as over 100 music tracks.
The original games released on Nintendo DS in 2010 and 2011 (the latter in Japan only). The first three Phoenix Wright games that precede it are available in the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, on PC and consoles. The last game in the main series was Phoenix Wright: Spirit of Justice in 2016.
Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is out now on digital stores, along with a physical version on Switch. A free demo is also available on each platform, featuring the beginning of each game’s first episode.
The collection is rated T for Teen with Mild Violence, Blood, Mild Suggestive Themes, and Mild Language.
