Capcom has announced that the latest entry in the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney will be coming to the U.S. and European markets by the end of 2016. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice has already been released in Japan.

The new game will be set in a brand new location, the Kingdom of Khura’in. Mysterious seance trials have taken the place of traditional trials. It will be up to players to figure out where these trials came from and why they’re being used. Because of this, a new seance trial gameplay feature has been added. While Phoenix is busy with the seances, his friend and colleague Apollo Justice is tasked with a difficult case that will have “explosive implications,” according to the official announcement.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is the sixth game in the franchise. The first game was released in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance. The games have a strong narrative element, with the gameplay centered around uncovering clues to various crimes and then defending the prime suspect in a courtroom setting. They’re sort of like a combination of a point-and-click adventure and RPG.

The latest game will be a purely digital release and will be available for the 3DS via the eShop. It will be released in September.
