HoYoverse unveiled the new content coming with the Zenless Zone Zero 1.1 update: new agents, new w-engines, and new story missions. The 1.1 “Undercover R&B” update drops August 14.
The new update continues the story teased in 1.0, which introduced the law enforcement faction, Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. The PubSec team includes Zhu Yuan, Qinqyi, and Seth. But the real prize is the villainous Jane, leader of an elusive gang known as the Mountain Lions.
Zhu Yuan has already been available as the current limited banner (ending August 14). She’s an S-rank Ether Attack class who wields her multi-use shotgun.
The next limited banner will feature S-rank Qinqyi, an Electric Stunner who wields an electrified baton.
The Phase 2 banner after Qinqyi will finally feature Jane Doe, an S-rank Physical Anomaly character, and our first real anti-hero. She’s the leader of the gang, and clashes directly with our security team. Players can also control her in free roam around the city during her new Agent Stories.
Her banner will also feature our first new A-rank character since launch, the fox-eared Seth Lowell. Seth is an Electric Defense character, making him our second-ever Defense character after Ben. He can combine his sword and baton to create a big sword, which is pretty spiffy looking.
Two new characters in one banner, and a villainous one, will make Jane’s banner extremely popular. Time to start saving those polychromes!
The update also adds new W-Engines, including signature S-rank and A-rank engines for each new agent. And at least one cute new cop-Bangboo called Offer Cui. Plus more Agent Stories, an expanded photo mode, and more.
Zenless Zone Zero is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile platforms. It’s rated T for Teen.
