THQ Nordic has emerged as a solid mid-tier publisher and developer over recent years, especially in reviving, remaking, and sequel-izing PC games from the 90s and 2000s.
During the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023, the Austrian publisher announced several new projects and sequels in development, including Titan Quest 2, Trine 5, and TMNT: The Last Ronin.
To celebrate the big announcement, the publisher is hosting a sale on dozens of games on Steam. The sale ends August 17th. THQ Nordic games include Darksiders, Gothic, Battle Chasers, Desperados 3, and Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning.
TMNT: The Last Ronin
The biggest surprise, and one of the last trailers, was for TMNT: The Last Ronin. The Last Ronin will be an adaptation of the comic series of the same name, published in 2020. It’s a darker, near-future, “What-If” spinoff of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, where only one of the turtles is left alive to fend off a conquest of New York City by the Foot Clan.
The teaser trailer doesn’t show much, but we may be looking at a combo-driven, Arkham style action game.

Titan Quest 2
One of the best Diablo-like action-RPGs ever made is finally getting a full sequel! Players will return to a violent, Grecian world of mythological monsters. The villain is Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution, who aims to punish humankind for their hubris. Titan Quest 2 will be another loot-driven hack and slasher, as players combine different masteries to create unique classes and builds.

South Park: Snow Day!
Eric Cartman isn’t wrong, snow days are pretty great. And South Park never does anything half-assed, as portrayed in the new trailer for South Park: Snow Day, which features the kids of the Colorado town battling each other in 3D hack and slash mayhem. Up to four players can battle together in South Park’s classic portrayal of cartoon kid violence and destruction.

Wreckreation
Not to be outdone by Hot Wheels Unleashed, the cleverly-named Wreckreation is another racing game that lets you build your own wacky racetracks. The emphasis is definitely on the building, including loops, tunnels, and all kinds of objects to run into. Wreckreation also supports building tracks together in multiplayer. And then, race them!

Last Train Home
Last Train Home combines XCOM unit management and real-time tactical strategy, with a train. You must keep your train repaired, and soldiers alive, as you guide your trapped Czechoslovakian soldiers along the Trans-Siberian Railway in this historical war game based on real events.

Alone in the Dark
Last year’s showcase first announced a remake of the original 1992 survival-horror game, Alone in the Dark. The game follows Emily Hartwood (Jodie Comer) and investigator Edward Carnby (David Harbour), as they arrive at an asylum to search for Emily’s uncle in the 1920s. A free prologue is available to download now, and stars 11-year old Grace Saunders, who embarks on an important mission from Jeremy Hartwood.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy
The co-op platforming Trine series has weathered its share of ups and downs over the years. Incredibly cringey people-playing-the-game trailer aside, the gameplay looks to ride the same solid wave as the fourth game, with 2.5D side-scrolling graphics and platforming puzzles. The three characters, knight Pontinus, rogue Zoya, and wizard Amadeus return with new abilities. Even through there are only three characters, Trine 5 will support up to four players in local and online multiplayer.
