Actor Cameron Monaghan took to the stage in The Game Awards 2022 to announce Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a direct sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 17, 20223.
In the Star Wars Jedi series, Monaghan plays Cal Kestis, a secret survivor of the Jedi purge that takes place between Episodes 3 (Revenge of the Sith) and 4 (A New Hope).
The action-adventure game features Kestis as he uses his lightsaber and growing Force powers to evade the Empire and reconnect with other Jedi. The sequel takes place five years after Fallen Order (making it ten years after Revenge of the Sith, which is around the same time as the Obi-Wan Kenobi series). Kestis remains one of the few surviving Jedi, though at least now he’s no longer a Padawan.
The Star Wars Jedi series is developed by Respawn Entertainment, best known for Titanfall and Apex Legends.
Pre-orders are available now, and include a cosmetic pack inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Deluxe Edition ($89.99) includes A limited edition Collector’s Edition from Limited Run Games features a full-size replica lightsaber hilt and magnetic box.
The Star Wars Jedi series is rated T for Teen.
