Poor Black Widow, the film, has been delayed several times due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with a (hopefully) final release date of July 9th, 2021. The video game Marvel’s Avengers has begun its first tie-in to the film, which stars the action-spy heroine Natasha Romanoff, with the Red Room Takeover event.
The single-player only Red Room Takeover event begins with a spy who has hacked into the Avengers’ HARM room and sent some mysterious messages to Black Widow. Players will need to survive the deadly traps amidst a crimson-coded backdrop in order to regain control of their training room. The event scales from power level 1 to 120.
Although the event focuses on Black Widow’s story, it can be completed with any hero. Completing the event unlocks in-game rewards, including a special crimson-colored animated nameplate.
We expect more Black Widow content in Marvel’s Avengers as the film (hopefully) nears its release date in July.
Marvel’s Avengers is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. It’s rated T for Teen.
