In what may be the final video of many, many trailers for Pokémon Sun and Moon, we’re introduced to the three Starter Pokémon’s exclusive Z-Moves.
Decidueye unleashes the Sinister Arrow Raid. He does a bombing run on his foes, dropping down a torrent of arrows. Incineroar preforms a wrestling belly-flop within an arena in Malicious Moonsault. Primarina summons a giant ball of water with Oceanic Operetta. She uses her voice to drop it on her foes, then takes a bow.
Z-Moves are the major new gimmick added to Pokémon Sun and Moon. Like the Mega Evolutions from last generation, they can be used once per battle. Z-Moves require the Z-Ring, a wearable bracelet, and the appropriate Z-Crystal. Most Z-Crystals are divided by type, such as Electric, Grass, and Fighting.
There are a few exceptions. Some Z-Crystals are specific to certain Pokémon, such as the three Starter Pokémon. In previous trailers we’ve seen some other exclusive Z-Moves, including Pikachu, Raichu, Snorlax, and Eevee. The Guardians of Alola also have their unique head-transforming Z-Moves.
The trailer also reveals more of the Ultra Beasts. These are powerful boss-like Pokémon which probably feature heavily into the main story. The trailer shows the spindly form of UB-03 Lightning and the monstrous maw of UB-05 Glutton.
Finally we get a few more Alola variants to classic Pokémon. Diglett and Dugtrio can be found in Pokémon Sun and Moon sporting hilarious wavy blonde surfer hair.
