During Gamescom 2026, Paradox Interactive, Iceflake Studios, and the LEGO Group announced LEGO Skylines, a cozy city builder launching on Steam PC, PlayStation, Switch 2, and Xbox.
And yes, the name is intentionally a play on Cities: Skylines, the popular city building sim that took over the genre void left by SimCity over a decade ago.
Starting with a single plot of land, players will build their house, expand their neighborhood, and create an entire metropolis out of fun and familiar LEGO brick pieces. Create infrastructure with power, roads, and water. Hospitals, services, stores, museums, sports arenas, and more.
As players expand, they’ll unlock new buildings and additional services to increase their overall city rating, and keep people happy.
LEGO Skylines is developed by Iceflake Studios, the development team that took over production of Cities: Skylines 2 in 2025, following the sequel’s rather disastrous launch.
“Most of us at Iceflake grew up building LEGO sets, and we’ve carried that passion with us to this day. As huge fans, we were incredibly excited to get the opportunity to combine our creative drive with everything we’ve learned over the years building deep management and simulation games,” said Lasse Liljedahl, Co-Founder and Game Director at Iceflake Studios. “With LEGO Skylines, we want to turn city building into a more personal experience, where only your imagination limits what kind of cities you can build. We can’t wait to see how players bring their dreams to life in it.”
A release date for LEGO Skylines has not yet been announced. Paradox also revealed a new grand strategy game, Afterworld, during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event.
