This month Paradox Interactive is celebrating the 11th anniversary of venerable city builder, Cities: Skylines. Normally we make a big deal out of 10th anniversaries (and they did)- but this one goes to 11!

The anniversary begins with a free-to-play weekend. In case you somehow haven’t purchased Cities: Skylines yet on Steam, you can download and play the city builder for free from March 5 through March 10.

A new expansion is then releasing on March 10, Race Day. Developed by Tantalus Media, Race Day unlocks street racing, running, and cycling courses, including custom routes and venues.

Players can get Race Day, along with the new Iconic Brutalism and Renwed History content creator packs, individually, or as part of the Race Day Bundle ($23.99).

All the DLC is also available with the Cities Skylines Expansion Subscription plan, now available at a reduced price of $7.99/mo. The subscription grants unlimited access to all DLC released over the game’s lifetime, including creator packs and radio stations.

Finally, March 18 will add two new creator packs to Cities: Skylines 2, Office Evolution and City Stations, alongside two more radio stations: Smooth Vibes FM and Skyrail Radio.

City Stations adds alternate designs for rail stations and depots, while Office Evolution features new office architectures. The Cities Skylines 2 DLC can also be purchased as part of a bundle pack at a reduced discount ($21.99).

The highly anticipated sequel, Cities: Skylines 2, launched in 2023 to middling fan reactions and performance issues. It still sits at a dubious Mixed user rating on Steam, though more players are playing the sequel than the original these days.
