Solo indie developer Digging Dino has released creature collector and idle game Tiny Monster Haven on Steam, with a 10% launch discount.
Tiny Monster Haven is a desktop idler that’s designed to sit at the bottom of your PC screen, a la Rusty’s Retirement. While players can grow and farm crops as in many idlers, Tiny Monster Haven is all about collecting, training, and battling monsters. No cutesy names, just ‘monsters!’
After choosing a starter monster, players start growing and harvesting crops. Owned monsters help water, pollinate, harvest, and other tasks around the Haven.
Cook meals and feed the monsters to improve their abilities, then battle other monsters and earn monster essence. Use monster essence to power up monsters, unlock new eggs, and expand the Haven. The Haven features a day/night cycle, and all four seasons, and placed scenery has an effect on monsters and other bonuses.
There’s also a mini single-player campaign, and support for 2v2 and 3v3 battles. The game includes over 50 monsters, as well as different color variants.
“I have always been a huge fan of the old Tiny Chao Garden mini-games in Sonic Advance. After discovering Rusty’s Retirement, I thought it would be really cool to combine the idea of a monster-taming game with elements of Tiny Chao – all while the game sits at the bottom of your screen,” said Lodeman, solo developer, Digging Dino. “I was already working on a monster-taming RPG, and I realized that this would be a great mix of different gameplay mechanics – all of which I was passionate about. Thus, Tiny Monster Haven was born.”
Tiny Monster Haven is available now on Steam. The launch discount ends August 25.
