Acorns announced the founding of a Kid Advisory Board to help guide their kid-focused smart money app, Acorns Early. The app is designed to teach kids and teens age 6-18 how to manage their own finances, and the four members of the Kid Advisory Board reflect those ages:

  • Bellen Woodard (Age 15), Activist & CEO – author and founder of More Than Peach, an inclusive crayon brand
  • Savannah “Van Van” (Age 7), Actress, Rapper, & Creator – appearances on Abbott Elementary, Sesame Street, and working on a financial literacy book
  • Naima (Age 12), Investor & Content Creator – featured in Show Your Potential campaign
  • Curtis (Age 12), Global Explorer & Entrepreneur – experienced world traveler

The Kid Advisory Board will provide direct input into new features, share their saving and investing stories, and provide inspiration for their generation.

“We put the consumer first in everything we do. So, naturally, we are putting the next generation of consumers at the center of Acorns Early,” said Noah Kerner, CEO of Acorns. “If you want to build the best financial wellness product for the next generation, let them help you build it.”

For $8 a month, Acorns Early provides kids with their own VISA debit card with bank-grade security, and parental controls. Parental controls are used via a parent app, which includes real-time spending notifications, adjustable spending limits, and instant transfers. The money is FDIC insured, and features secure PIN and chip protections.

Acorns was named one of America’s Best Financial Services of 2026 by TIME magazine, and to date has served over 14 million people.
