Over the weekend, Microsoft hosted the annual Xbox Games Showcase as part of Summer Game Fest, revealing world premiere announcements, new trailers, and big updates for ongoing titles.
We also got official release dates for Halo: Campaign Evolved, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and Fable!

Fable
The new trailer for Fable revealed Isabel, a former hero of Albion played by Hayley Atwell. Fable is a reboot of the 2000s-era action-RPG series, known for its free-form narrative that emphasizes player choice in a humorous, fairy-tale-inspired world.
“Hayley’s ability to combine vulnerability with strength made her the perfect person to play Isabel, and working with her was a real pleasure,” said Craig Owens, Narrative Director. “Her desire to really dig into the character and deliver the best possible performance in every scene blew us all away, not just on the performance capture stage but in the voice recording booth, where her classical training was on full display. Hayley brought a dedication, seriousness and grit to the role that, in many ways, mirrors the character’s own.”
Fable will release on February 23, 2027 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Halo: Campaign Evolved
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Halo, focusing entirely on the single-player campaign. Campaign Evolved updates the 25-year old shooter with Unreal Engine 5, along with redesigned levels, and new narrative additions that acknowledge the future Halo series.
Campaign Evolved doesn’t include competitive multiplayer, but will feature one of Halo’s best features at the time — co-op! Up to two players can enjoy split-screen cooperftive multiplayer, or up to four players via online multiplayer. Plus, cross-play between PC and consoles.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will release July 28 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Gears of War: E-Day
Originally announced back in 2024, E-Day is a prequel to the once-famous Xbox third-person shooter series, and the sixth game overall. It tells the story of when the Lcous first emerged from the ground and attacked the surface, Emergency Day. It’s also an origin story, bringing Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago together as young soldiers in a more intimate story.
Gears of War: E-Day will release on October 6 on PC and Xbox.
Minecraft Dungeons 2
One of 2020’s best family-friendly co-op adventures is getting a long-awaited sequel in Minecraft Dungeons 2. The action-RPG spinoff series returns with a new adventure, with new areas and new enemies — plus even more equipment and customization for our blocky heroes.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 is releasing September 29 on PC, PlayStation, Switch 2, and Xbox.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond
Surprise — we’re getting a new Spryo game! Toys for Bob, the original Spyro (and Skylanders) developers announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond, the first original Spyro game in almost two decades (not counting Skylanders — did we mention we really miss Skylanders?).
Following the remastered Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, A Realm Reborn sees the purple dragon more grown up, and capable of full flight, and a large world that supports it. The trailer teases a new villain for Spyro to contend with.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond will launch Spring 2027.
Persona 6
Good news: new Persona 6 trailer!
Bad news: the teaser trailer shows absolutely nothing, including a release date. Boo!
As a consolation, Persona 4 Revival, the remaster of Persona 4, did get a release date: February 18, 2027.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour
A follow-up to one of the best games on Sega Dreamcast (and increasingly poor cash-in sequels), Crazy Taxi: World Tour is the first new game in the arcade racing series in over 20 years. World Tour features a full story-based campaign starring Axel, the adrenaline-fueled taxi driver on an internaitonal adventure across five different cities.
World Tour also features online multiplayer racing and a revamped classic mode.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour is releasing in 2027.
State of Decay 3
It’s been a long time coming for one of our favorite zombie games, but we’re finally getting a release date, er, year, for State of Decay 3. Plus, a trailer that actually shows off gameplay for the next game in the open world survival series.
State of Decay 3 keeps the settlement building and group dynamic systems, and supports solo play as well as shared-world co-op with up to four players in a world overrun by the undead. Players can sign up for the upcoming playtest at the official website.
State of Decay 3 will release in 2027.
