During Summer Game Fest 2026, Square Enix officially announced Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the third game in the FF7 remake trilogy. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will release in Spring 2027 on PC, PlayStation, Switch 2, and Xbox.
In Revelation, Cloud and friends have access to the airship Highwind, courtesy of new ally Cid. With the airship, the entire planet is fully explorable. Players can drop in via parachutes, landing seamlessly from air to land, to thwart the destructive magic of Meteor, and prevent the apotheosis of Sephiroth.
New locations include the Mideel archipelago, the warrior nation of Wutai, and the frozen Northern Continent. The new FITS system grants new abilities by equipping certain outfits. And newcomers Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine join the roster, featuring unique playstyles and abilities.
“As creators, we have carefully built and nurtured the Final Fantasy 7 series over many years, expanding it through numerous spin-off titles along the way,” said Tetsuya Nomura, Creative Director. “Over time, we believe each fan has developed their own unique interpretation of the story, and our goal has been to bring all of these Final Fantasy 7 stories together so that they ultimately converge in the final chapter of the Remake Series. While there may be a mix of excitement and uncertainty, we are confident that this journey will remain an unforgettable experience for years to come. If you missed the first two entries, you can catch up via the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade & Rebirth – Twin Pack. An optional Streamlined Progression system ensures players can complete the story much quicker with unlimited HP and MP, and other superpowered features.
Final Fantasy 7 released in 1997 and quickly became one of the greatest RPGs of all time (and often credited with ‘saving’ the JRPG genre in the tumultuous shift to 3D). It features a compelling story, great characters, an amazing soundtrack, and pseudo-turn based combat system. The remakes maintain the core story, world, and characters while expanding on everything with an all new graphical overview, and the ability to switch between real-time and turn-based combat.
Players with save data from Intergrade or Rebirth will also unlock special goodies in Revelation:

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Revelation will release on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2027.
