Square Enix has released Life Is Strange: Reunion, the sixth game in the narrative adventure game series, for Steam PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Serving as a direct sequel to 2024’s Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, Reunion picks up the story of Max Caulfield at Caledon University, this time working as a teacher of photography. While away one weekend, Max returns to find the school burned down and her friends dead — and discovers her original Rewind powers are the only thing that can save them, and uncover the mystery.
Reunion also adds a series-first dual playable protagonist with the return of Chloe. Chloe arrived following the timey whimey events of Double Exposure, as he comes to grips with her new reality.
Players will need to use both characters to solve the time-spanning puzzles and story. Max can Rewind time to undo choices and change the course of history, while Chloe’s ability to Backtalk and sway others can get her into places that Max cannot.
Reunion serves as a final climax to Max and Chloe’s saga, which spans all the way back to the original game from 2015. Their story continued in the prequel, Life Is Strange: Before the Storm, then took a significant break before their return in the fifth game, Double Exposure. The original Life Is Strange, and Before the Storm, were released together as part of the Remastered Collection in 2022.
Life Is Strange: Reunion is out now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and rated M for Mature.
