Super Evil Megacorp has released the next paid DLC for roguelike brawler, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate. The DLC adds Alopex, a mutant arctic fox, and the game’s first playable female character.
I must be behind I’m on my Turtles lore, as I’ve never heard of a mutant fox character. But she has a cool design, and wields dual kama to slice at foes, along with kunai to deal bigger bursts of damage at close ranger. Apparently she’s a former ally of Karai, whom I have heard of as the token female badass character in the lore.
Alopex arrives with five new artifacts to find in future runs:
- Polar Bear Netsuke – Every 10 seconds, Final Strike will throw out a line of flames. Cooldown is halved under half health.
- The Maltese Hamster – Your Tool charges slower, but deals extra Damage.
- Channel Six Mini Camera – Your Special charges slower, but deals extra damage.
- Hot Cocoa (with Marshmallows) – You have -1 dash. When you dash, gain a burst of movement speed.
- Buddy the Wraith – You have an allied Utrom Wraith, which levels up and evolves over a run.
All players can enjoy the new free update, which adds new challenging runs to Arcade mode, and a new progression system called Ninja Ranks. Ninja Ranks keep track of how many times players have defeated Shredder, earning new badges with more kills. Plus, over a dozen new room designs to add more variety to different areas.
Splintered Fate is a former mobile-exclusive, co-op brawler with the Turtles (and friends) taking down familiar enemies while gaining new abilities and powerups. Previous DLC added Casey Jones, and Metalhead to the roster.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is available on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox
